Our Sustainability Commitments

✽  At Chili

Our sustainability commitments rest

on Five Major Pillars

1

Usability and Durability

We design corporate merchandise that is not only functional but also built to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements and ensuring your brand endures for years.

2

Recyclable and Recycled Materials

We prioritize using materials such as recycled stainless steel, recycled aluminum, recyclable glass, recyclable ceramic, and recycled ocean plastic fabric to minimize our environmental footprint.

3

Product Functionality

Our products offer practical solutions for every- day needs. For instance, our Chili Calypso drink- ware helps you say no to single-use plastics, while our Waste2Gear products, made from recy- cled ocean plastic fabric, contribute to cleaning our oceans.

4

Carbon Footprint reduction and Offsetting

We measure, reduce and offset our carbon footprint since 2018.

5

Community Action

As we advance in our sustainability efforts, we aim to take direct action with local communities where we operate. Our first initiative is in Koh Tao, Thailand, where we aim to support and empower the local community.

Koh Tao, a diving paradise north of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, is re- nowned for its vibrant turtle population. However, the island faces significant waste management challenges, producing 20 tons of waste per day while only being able to process 4 tons.

To address this issue, we have partnered with Ogga Idea, Chili’s exclusive dis- tributor in Thailand, and committed 1% of our turnover in Thailand to help Koh Tao improve its waste management system. In collaboration with local com- munities, we are focusing on three key actions.

Community Action

1. Single-Use Plastic Ban

Working towards implementing a ban on single-use plastics across the island to reduce waste generation. This medium to long-term goal involves collaboration with local authorities and tourism sector operators..

Community Action

2. Introducing Waste Sorting System

Introducing a comprehensive waste sorting system. Compostable waste will remain on the island for processing,
while non-compostable waste will be sorted and sent to off-island recycling facilities.

Community Action

3. Enhancing Waste Sorting Facilities

Supporting the six waste sorting facilities on Koh Tao to improve their productivity, efficiency,
and logistics, addressing a major bottleneck in the island’s waste management system.

Through these initiatives, we aim to significantly reduce the environmental impact on Koh Tao
and preserve its natural beauty and biodiversity.

As we started this project early April 2024 with an initial visit to Koh Tao, we saw on July 2024 the first result of our initiative with the shipment of

5.2t of PET bottles coming from beach cleaning and the local recycling facilities

The transportation of those 5.2T of PET bottles from Koh Tao to Indorama in Bangkok is subsidized by Ogga Idea + Chili. Indorama is a major actor in the PET recycle sector, transforming PET bottles into RPET flakes and RPET fibers

Since July 2024, we have collected and shipped 6 tons per month, totally 72 tons per year
